When hell boils up and takes the earth, it will be the tiny losses that rock us most. The lack of indoor plumbing, no more soda pop, no place to buy aspirin, three hours to make bread. We will be able to overlook the horrible losses of life. The death of loved ones and friends will fade in the day to day, but the accumulation of realizations like “No more orange mint tic-tacs” will eventually drive madness into men.

The destruction of the first great civilization of man will mean little to the Earth and Nothing At All to the universe.
